The art of Angels, the City of Getty

If you are a culture freak, I would say that yes, L.A has more than famous people, stores and beaches. Getty Center is THE place to meet art and it has the perfect environment to interact with the nature and discover about history and even the geography of the city, (because of the incredible view from up there). The adventure at Getty starts right after you park your car. To get to the museum you have to take a tram and when you just put your feet out of the train you can feel the fresh air and beauty from the top of one of the several hills located in the city of Angels.

If you are ready to appreciate art, first thing you should do when you get to the Getty museum is ask for the map with all the buildings and the exhibitions. Since the place is big , it is better for you to organize your time and what you want to see. For architectural lovers, there is a special tour to learn about all the architecture of the place, pretty amazing. And for you, that are not that patient with paintings and sculptures and prefer just to enjoy the moment, run for the garden. Sooooo beautiful. You can even have a picnic in their super green and clean grass ( you have the option to buy the food at the Getty Cafe – cheeses, breads, crackers, sandwiches, salads, cakes or wherever you want for your lunch).

You can’t miss the incredible view from the entire L.A in the rooftop of one the main buildings. If you go in the afternoon, stay a little longer to appreciate the sunset, amazing.

It’s impossible to see everything at Getty Center in one afternoon. It is huge and with a lot of attractions. Plan to go for a day ( there are several restaurants and cafe places there) or be prepared to come back! The good thing is that you just have to pay the parking, the museum entrance is free. I’m always back 🙂

Other options of nice museums in Los Angeles is the Lacma ( at Wilshire blvd), Moca in downtown and the Getty Villa in Malibu.  Have fun!
